KRONOPUR 303
self-priming acrylic semi-gloss 2-component enamel
Description
KRONOPUR 303 is a self-priming, acrylic semi-gloss 2-component enamel. The advantages of this material include a fast-drying speed, excellent chemical and weather resistance, high flexibility and elasticity, as well as a high level of corrosion protection. The enamel can be overcoated without intermediate sanding for a certain period of time. It is used as a single product for the treatment of iron, galvanized steel sheet, aluminum, plastic and glass.
Surface preparation
All surfaces to be painted must be clean and dry, free from dust and rust. Possible traces of salt, grease and oil must be removed using a suitable cleaning agent.
- • Iron/Steel: sandblasted to SA 2½ (ISO 8501-1).
- • Galvanized sheet steel - silicon sandblasted to SaS. If sandblasting is not possible, the surface should be roughened mechanically or manually and then thoroughly cleaned.
- • Aluminium - sandblast with non-metallic abrasive to SaS. Where sandblasting is not possible, the surface should be roughened mechanically or manually and then thoroughly cleaned.
- • Plastic - roughen the surface mechanically or manually and then thoroughly cleaned.
- • Glass should be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable cleaner.
- • Old paintwork should be thoroughly removed by sandblasting (ISO 8501-1) or by mechanical cleaning to PSt2.
Application conditions
- • The product should be applied at temperatures between +0°C and +35°C and a relative humidity not exceeding 85%.
- • The surface temperature should be at least 3°C above the dew point.
- • Temperatures below 0°C will slow down the drying process.
- • Drying times may vary depending on the coating thickness and relative humidity.
- • Good ventilation of the surface facilitates drying.
- • Stacking times depend on the coating thickness, relative humidity and size of the products.
Operating recommendations
Used containers must be disposed of in accordance with national legislation and/or regional regulations. After finishing painting work, it is recommended to immediately wash all equipment with a special washing solvent.
- • Storage stability from +5°C to +30°C: 12 months
- • The product should be stored in a closed, dry place, away from heat sources.
