KRONOPUR 302
2-component acrylic primer
Description
KRONOPUR 302 is a 2-component acrylic primer. The product features include fast drying, good filling power, high flexibility and elasticity, high corrosion protection and excellent elongation.
Surface preparation before coating
All surfaces to be painted must be clean and dry, free from dust and rust. Possible traces of salt, grease and oil must be removed using a suitable cleaning agent.
Preparation depending on the type of surface:
• Iron/Steel: sandblasting SA 2½ (ISO 8501-1).
• Galvanized sheet steel: silicon sandblasting to SaS.
• Aluminum: sandblasting with non-metallic abrasive to SaS.
Where sandblasting is not possible, the surface must be roughened mechanically or manually, then thoroughly cleaned. In this case, adhesion will be ensured.
• Concrete: water jetting and/or blasting is recommended.
• Old paintwork: thorough removal of paint by sandblasting (ISO 8501-1) or mechanical cleaning to PSt2.
Application conditions
• The product must be applied at temperatures between +0°C and +35°C and relative humidity not exceeding 85%.
• The surface temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point.
• Temperatures below 0°C slow down the drying process.
Drying times may vary depending on the thickness of the coating applied and the relative humidity. Good ventilation of the product surface facilitates drying. Stacking times depend on the thickness of the coating, the relative humidity and the size of the products.
Operating recommendations
• Used containers must be disposed of in accordance with national legislation and/or regional regulations.
• After finishing painting work, it is recommended to immediately wash all equipment with a special washing solvent.
• Storage stability from +5°C to +30°C: 12 months
• The product should be stored in a closed, dry place, away from heat sources.
