KRONOCOAT 430s
Two-component epoxy-polyamide semi-gloss enamel

Description

KRONOCOAT 430s is a two-component epoxy-polyamide semi-gloss enamel. The product is characterized by high physical and chemical resistance, as well as high wetting ability and good adhesion to various types of substrates. The enamel is recommended as a finishing coating for anti-corrosion cycles. It is used for products operated in areas with increased aggressive effects, such as industrial and marine areas.

Epoxy materials should not be exposed to sunlight to avoid destruction of the paint layer.

Surface preparation

All substrates to be painted must be cleaned and dried, and traces of dust and rust must be removed. Possible traces of salts, grease and oil must be removed with a suitable cleaner.

— Iron/Steel: sandblasting, grade SA 2½ (ISO 8501-1).

— Galvanization: sandblasting with fine silica grade SaS.

— Aluminum: sandblasting with non-metallic abrasive to grade SaS.

— Concrete: cleaning with water and/or blasting is recommended.

— Old paint: carefully remove layers of old paint by sandblasting (ISO 8501) or mechanical cleaning grade PSt2.

Where sandblasting is not possible, the surface must be mechanically or manually roughened and then thoroughly cleaned; in this case, adhesion will be ensured.

Product preparation

To obtain the best result, it is important to follow the following instructions when preparing the product:

— mix the product well before use;

— mix the product (part A) and the hardener (part B) in the ratio required for catalysis;

— mix the products thoroughly, bringing the mass to homogeneity;

— apply the product no later than the expiration date of the mixture.

Application conditions

The product must be applied at a temperature of +10°C to +35°C and a relative humidity not exceeding 80%.

The surface temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point. Temperatures below 10°C slow down the drying process.

Brushing is recommended for painting edges and small areas. Roller application should be used on small areas and surfaces. In both cases, make sure that the required amount of material is applied. When it comes to a fast-drying product for industrial use, roller/brush application cannot guarantee the proper appearance (it can cause unevenness or lead to insufficient stretching).

Recommendations for use

Used containers must be disposed of in accordance with national legislation and/or regional regulations.  After finishing painting work, it is recommended to immediately wash all equipment with a special washing solvent.

The materials are used for professional use in accordance with the safety data sheet and precautions indicated on the packaging.

The storage stability of the materials at a temperature of +5°C to +30°C is 12 months. The product should be stored in a closed, dry place, away from heat sources.
